the christchurch

However, the second quake, less powerful at 6.3 on the Richter scale, was shallow, hitting the city during one of the busiest parts of the day at 12h51m42s on February 22nd 2011. Damage to Christchurch and many historic towns in Canterbury between the mountains and the coast has been catastrophic, and the loss of life tragic. As I first wrote this, 161 citizens were known to have died, and the final toll may be around 240.
That very first chart for the naming of the city is very telling: not only was the Sun at 6 Aries, but it was close to the Dragon's Tail, almost exactly conjunct the dwad of the Tail, and aligned with an accompanying opposition of dwad Saturn/Ceres. Because the Dragon's Tail was at 0 Aries, the draconic Sun was opposite the tropical, at 6 Libra. Squaring all this was Dwad Mars with the radix Moon on the Sagittarius/ Capricorn cusp. In any chart this implies an outworking of karma through sacrifice, stress and grief at whatever point in history these patterns are activated. And it is now. Pluto, the Dragon, and the recent Saturn/ Jupiter/ Uranus T-square have all been attacking the Christchurch chart since the late summer of 2010, coinciding with the first earthquake. With the N.Node at 0 Capricorn, all draconic and current draconic positions are square their tropical radices, heaping fuel on the fire. All this is also hitting the 1st Ad chart for Ballantynes', with its New Moon across the Virgo-Libra cusp. At the first quake, Ceres and Moon conjoined the Virgo Descendant in the dwad. A dwad Mars-Chiron opposition added its pain to the Grand Cross of Moon-Pluto/Jupiter-Saturn configuring the Dragon. It happened at the moment when draconic Saturn was on the sidereal 7th squared by the draconic Moon and sidereal Mars, and tropical Mars was on the sidereal IC. And of course when you add the dwad to the historic sidereal chart ... there is classic shock planet Uranus on the radix MC, and Saturn on the radix Descendant. Sudden, and damaging. |
The pattern for the second, February earthquake holds strong echoes of the first. Ceres is powerful again - right on the Midheaven, the sidereal position joined by draconic Moon, while again tropical Saturn weighs on the sidereal Descendant. That culminating Ceres is still there in the sidereal dwad - and right opposite dwad Pluto/IC. The Ascendant is shaken by the embrace of dwad Chiron and Uranus. Again, shock. Again, pain. Again, bereavement and grief. And now in the tropical this time we find the same classic pattern as before: dwad Uranus on the radix MC ... with the culminating Ceres, the grieving mother of the earth sharing the loss and heartbreak of a lovely old city in ruins.
